WORKING MEDIA VISITATION POLICY FOR HOMESTEAD HERITAGE
Homestead Heritage welcomes accredited members of the media to visit and cover our farms, workshops, attractions, events, and experiences. To ensure a smooth and productive visit, the following guidelines must be observed:
Eligibility and Accreditation
- Media Credentials: All visiting media representatives must provide valid, current press credentials and/or proof of editorial assignment from a recognized media outlet.
- Pre-Approval: Media visits must be coordinated and approved in advance through Homestead Heritage’s Public Relations agency, Crosswind Media & Public Relations. Walk-in or same-day requests cannot be accommodated.
- Freelancers: Freelancers must present a letter of assignment from an accredited outlet.
Scheduling and Access
- Appointments: Media visits must be scheduled at least 10 business days in advance. Special events may require earlier requests.
- Media Escort: Depending on the nature of the visit, an assigned staff employee of Homestead Heritage may escort media personnel during their visit.
- Restricted Areas: Certain backstage and restricted areas are off-limits unless pre-arranged as part of the visit.
Permitted Activities
- Photography and Videography:
- Photos and videos are allowed for editorial purposes only.
- Tripods, external lighting, or large equipment require prior approval.
- Filming must not disrupt guest experiences, homes of residents, farm operations, or workspaces marked as not open to the public.
- Signs noting that certain areas are off-limits to reporters and photographers must be respected.
- Interviews:
- Interviews with residents, crafts persons or other Homestead Heritage representatives must be arranged through Crosswind Media & Public Relations.
- Guest interviews are not allowed without prior consent from the guest and Homestead Heritage.
Conduct and Safety
- Guest Experience: Media visits must not interfere with the enjoyment of other guests or disrupt operations.
- Identification: Media personnel must wear visible media badges or passes provided by Homestead Heritage at all times.
- Safety: All media must adhere to Homestead Heritage’s safety protocols, including ride, stage and attraction policies.
Usage and Content
- Content Restrictions: Media may not use footage, photos, or reports for commercial purposes without written permission.
- Attribution: All published content must credit “Homestead Heritage” when referencing the Homestead Heritage community.
Special Events and Premieres
- Media invited to specific events must RSVP by the stated deadline and comply with any additional event-specific guidelines.
- Event credentials will outline specific areas of access and activities allowed.

Homestead Heritage reserves the right to deny or revoke media access at its discretion for failure to adhere to this policy or for any reason deemed necessary to maintain the integrity of the guest experience, private residence and operations.
